J.D. Candidate, St John's University School of Law

Eva-Maria Ghelardi graduated in 2014 with a B.A. in History, after which she moved to Paris for a year to complete her M.A. in History and Literature from Columbia University. Delving more deeply into the subject she had studied at CUA, Eva-Maria ultimately wrote her thesis on the personal and political relationship between Louis XI of France and Francesco Sforza, Duke of Milan. For this thesis, she did research at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France and the Archivio di Stato di Milano, as well as taking courses at the Sorbonne, ENS, and EHESS.  Throughout the entire year, Eva-Maria was thankful for the rigorous academics at CUA, which prepared her for the difficulties of juggling her master’s course work, thesis research, a teaching job, and lots of cultural exploration.

After completing her M.A., Eva-Maria worked as a Business Development Assistant at a law firm for a little over two years. "While there I realized that everything I loved about history was applicable in the legal field. I received a full scholarship to go to St. John’s University School of Law."
