Eleanor graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in History, with minors in German, Music, and Medieval and Byzantine Studies, and she was a university honors scholar.
Since February 2012, Eleanor has served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Zambia. Eleanor spent two years working in a very small village called Vwenkhu in Kapichila Chiefdom. She was assigned to the Linking Income, Food, and the Environment (LIFE) Project by Peace Corps, and her work focused on sustainable food security at the grassroots level.
She led girls' empowerment clubs for girls in grades 5-9 at three local schools, and taught a group of seventh graders about HIV/AIDS and Malaria at a Grassroots Soccer camp. She also worked with local agricultural officers to reach women's groups and farmer's groups in the area, teaching members about conservation farming, agroforestry, soil structure and composition, and basic financial skills.
Eleanor now serves in the capital, Lusaka, working with Catholic Relief Services for a year.
