Amanda Beltran
Ph.D. Candidate, UC Berkeley

Amada graduated CUA in 2014 with a major in History and a minor in Theology and Religious Studies. Immediately after graduating she started her Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley, where she studies Latin American history. Her main interests are the history of family and the history of religion. Since then she has also co-taught a history course for undergraduates at the University and was invited to join The Berkeley Institute as a Junior Fellow. She usually spends her summers doing research at historical archives in various cities in Mexico.

The education she received at CUA was excellent in every respect. Her professors not only prepared her to pursue a career in academia, but also nurtured her intellect to face the expectations of secular academic environments joyfully.
