Andrea graduated from CUA with a B.A. in history in 2014. She now serves as the Development Assistant at the historic house museum Dumbarton House in Georgetown, D.C. The mission of Dumbarton House, headquarters of The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America, is to support the organization’s Corporate Societies and their members, to maintain its historic museum property, and to enhance the cultural life of Washington, D.C.

During Andrea’s time at Dumbarton House, she developed and streamlined the Museum Membership program, tripling membership. Andrea also supported the annual fundraising campaign by processing all donations and provided research and outreach efforts to lapsed, current, and potential donors.

Prior to her current position, Andrea served as a Visitor Services Representative at the Newseum. Andrea has a broad range of hands-on experience with community outreach, member services, artifact handling, and cataloging acumen, having interned at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, the National Museum of Crime and Punishment, and at the Corcoran Gallery of Art while earning her B.A. at Catholic.

In Fall 2016, Andrea will begin studying for her Master's degree in Archival Studies at the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, Canada. Andrea credits her rigorous undergraduate coursework for preparing her to undertake both both professional history work and graduate education. She also attributes her successes to the encouragement and help from the supportive faculty in the CUA History Department, especially Dr. Thomas Cohen and Dr. Jennifer Paxton, who advised Andrea's thesis and wrote her graduate school recommendation letters, respectively.
