During May 2019, Catholic University’s Department of History is hosting Gabriella Hermann, recent recipient of a Fulbright fellowship. Ms. Hermann is a Ph.D. candidate at Corvinus University of Budapest’s International Relations Multidisciplinary Doctoral School. She previously earned a masters degree in International Relations (from Corvinus University of Budapest, Hungary) and another masters degree in Ethnography (from Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary). The fellowship will enable her to further her research for her dissertation on ethnic advocacy activities of Hungarian diaspora organizations in the U.S., focusing on Hungarian minorities living in Romania during the Cold War. Before coming to CUA, Ms. Herrmann did research at Rutgers University’s Department of History, the Ford Presidential Library (Ann Arbor, MI). She plans to pursue research at the Carter Presidential Library in Atlanta, GA and in New York City (United Nations Archives).
