The Department of History's faculty research specializations span a wide range of historical times, places, and methodological approaches.  Most of our faculty have primary research concentrations in the medieval world, early modern and modern Europe, and the Americas, but many work within broader comparative perspectives.  While the history of religion is a common focus throughout the research of most professors in the department, we also have particular strengths in intellectual, political, cultural, and legal history as well as the intersection between history and policy, preparing our students -- both undergraduate and graduate -- for a diverse range of careers.
