Students of history at The Catholic University of America work with prize-winning professors who have equal commitment to advanced research projects and teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels. The Department of History prides itself on its rigorous training and its friendly, collegial atmosphere.

The department offers an undergraduate major and minor in history, as well as several joint programs including B.A./M.A., B.A./M.S.L.I.S., B.A./J.D., and history with secondary education combinations. At the graduate level, we offer master's, doctoral, and joint degree programs. We have rich faculty and scholarly resources in the areas of colonial and modern Latin America, medieval European and Middle Eastern history, early modern and modern Europe, colonial and modern U.S. history.
